Session Detail

After a lengthy technet discussion topic, we've re-opened the stargate for passing parameters via URL into WebDirect. Stop by to see the process that we followed to get from a discussion concept to working method, and where this method can take us in the future for integrating WebDirect to other websites.

This session includes some basic PHP code, along with a Custom Web Publishing component, and native FileMaker actions. I'll be distributing the demo files at the session. You should have a text editor to edit the PHP files, as well as the filemaker.php & /filemaker/ folder required for CWP. If you've never played with PHP and CWP before this session might confuse you a bit, but could make for a good intro to PHP/CWP for you.

The session will conclude with an open discussion of ideas for improvement and advanced implementation of this, which will result in a "to-do list" for any interested collaborators to further this method into a whitepaper & demo to be distributed later.

I dabble in many hobbies, such as homebrewing award winning beer (samples available?), skiing dangerous icy midwest slopes, woodworking, plus many more (ask so I can bore you!). I was honored with the FileMaker Community of the Year award at Devcon 2014 for my contributions to technet and the community at large, and I also organize my local FMPUG (COFMUG).
